Good Intentions

For years I imagined hand delivering goodies to my clients but never did.  I wanted to be the best Realtor evah.  But many reasons prohibited me:  Time, expense and a self-defeated attitude.

But at straight up and down fifty years of age, it is acutely apparent that life is a vapor.  Act!  Said my heart.  Don't procrastinate!  Said my brain.  And so.....

When you're in the midst of a real estate transaction, you're in the thick of peoples' lives:  Their families, their interests, jobs, hobbies and much more.  You are entrusted with a seriously valuable commodity:  Time.

And so the baking began.  Even 'Hey Buddy' my cat got into the giving of it all.

Tomorrow I have the privilege of delivering my favorite dessert - carrot cake! - to my 2013 clients.  And there really is MORE joy in giving than receiving.  Seems I've heard that somewhere. :)

Merry Christmas!

Apples, Christmas Bows and Sales Meetings

All work and no play makes for a dull sales meeting.  And today proved to be both fun and enlightening.  Turns out my broker is both a skilled trainer AND first class bow maker!

We learned that 'A' is not only for apple but also:

Attitude - We all know it BUT IT'S TRUE!  Attitude determines altitude.  As a man thinks, so he is.  Want change in your life?  Start by changing how you think.

Planning - Failure to plan is surely planning to fail.  Must take time before the birth of 2014 to plot a course for success!

Perform - Execute your plan!  Otherwise, all that planning will go down the preverbal tube of good intentions!

Look outside the box - Imagination?  Anyone?  Anyone here have imagination?  It's the often overlooked and untapped resource that can lead to success!

Emulate - Frustrated in business?  Tried all the 'click here for instant success' schemes, attended webinars, invested in countless lead generating tools to no avail?  Find someone successful and do what they do!

Most importantly, learn how to make a great Christmas bow!  Sure to spur the Christmas cheer in your heart :)

First Times Are Scary

The first time to do anything is scary.  The first roller coaster ride, the first time at bat, first piano recital, the first taste of broccoli, the first time to sing Jingle Bells in front of adults [smile].

Every stage and every area of life has firsts ~ whether the beginning, middle or nearing the end of life, whether in the professional, personal or spiritual arena ~ there's something new to learn or experience.  Every day is a serious of firsts.

2014 promises to be chock-full of firsts for me and personally, I'd prefer to hibernate neath the comfort of my warm blanket.  In fact, I find facing firsts to be rather frightening.  But in the words of wellness guru Deepak Chopra, "Either you will make the right decision, or if something goes wrong, you will learn from your mistakes and march forward to make better decisions in the future.  This is the attitude that all highly successful people adopt."

So sit up, suit up and step up to the challenges you face.  Just knowing you're alongside will give me courage to peep from beneath my covers and maybe together, 2014 won't be so scary.
